For as much as I love art, color and design, I’m hopeless when it comes to interiors.
I’m not really sure why I’m so hopeless, except that unlike clothing that can be easily changed, the permanence of a painted wall or an upholstered chair is too much pressure for someone with my kind of fickleness.
Thankfully, I’ve got nothing that needs painting or upholstering, but the piles and piles of papers, bills, contracts, contacts, and social media pass codes have been haunting me from what used to be the dining room.
To start, I’ve separated all of my paper stacks, covering every flat surface in the house.
Duck yellow filing folders for the kids stuff?
Maybe I’ll start there.
Do you have a home office? What works for you?
The hub for all I do, marthawills.com documents life from a working mom's point of view. When not mothering, I manage the social media needs of small businesses through Wills Media Group, LLC, and write a weekly column for Raleigh's News & Observer online entitled, Are We There Yet? Most recently, my passion for health and wellness led me to become involved as a consultant for Beautycounter, a company that's making a difference by educating about toxins in products, spreading the word via the web.
