With the kids gone last night I was free and clear to Internet surf without disruption.
I used my time to unhurriedly search the blogs. I’m busier than ever, so sadly, my blog reading has become last on my list of to dos.
I discovered some new blogs (Franish, found after google searching “work” pants), rediscovered more familiar blogs (Ain’t No Mom Jeans, a fantastic blog about a mom and her fashion, now addressing a breast cancer diagnosis), both (amongst other others) mentioning their fondness for a company called Everlane.
Based in L.A., Everlane’s t-shirts, are priced amazingly well; $15.00 for the basics, $25.00 for the slouchy. The Women’s silks are gorgeous, and at $80.00, much less than silks from Vince or J Crew Collection or … anywhere, actually.
Their goal is to be transparent about their production, and they have a video to prove it.
No one should pay $50.00 for a t-shirt.
No way. No how.
$50.00 for a t-shirt?
It happens, and Everlane’s graphic illustrates how. Check out their Tumblr page for more information!
The hub for all I do, marthawills.com documents life from a working mom's point of view. When not mothering, I manage the social media needs of small businesses through Wills Media Group, LLC, and write a weekly column for Raleigh's News & Observer online entitled, Are We There Yet? Most recently, my passion for health and wellness led me to become involved as a consultant for Beautycounter, a company that's making a difference by educating about toxins in products, spreading the word via the web.
