Back in school, my favorite class was draping. Unlike pattern making, so strict and precise, draping a piece of fabric across a dress form is loose and romantic. There’s nothing prettier on a female figure than a flattering drape; accentuating the positive, and camouflaging discretely.
The best in the ready to wear draping biz, IMO, is British brand All Saints.
Sometimes severe in their styling, their draping is always soft and pretty, even in hard colors and prints. With the online sale, and free shipping and returns within the U.S., it’s a great time to give them a try (if you haven’t already). There are so many to choose from, order a bunch and keep your favorites!
Your closet (and your girly side) will thank you.
Whenever I wear my All Saints pieces, strangers will stop to compliment or ask about the garment. The design is always interesting, and the quality is superb.
